Prompt Sunday: 50 things that happened to me the last month.

The Prompt: List down 50 things that happened with/to you this month. They can be funny, embarrassing, serious, etc.

It has barely been 4 days to this month.. so I won’t take the calendar month, and will consider it from the first of December.

50 things is a lot to write about a month one might say. I myself did. Afterall, the month has but 30 days. But as rightly pointed out by one of my most faithful (and attractive) readers, if we can write more than 50 lines about one single day in our daily journal, can we really not write 50 lines about one whole month? So here it goes.

50 things that happened to me in the last month

1. I came to Hyderabad to finally join a new job.

2. I spent a long time just studying and not working on that very job.

3. Formal clothing became my second skin.

4. GYM!!! Started working out and getting some shape into my body, rather than the other way round 😛

5. Regular availability of Home cooked Food 😀

6. Skype continues to take over my life in the loveliest way possible 🙂

7. I overpaid in public transport without knowing it

8. Bought a couple of books to read in my free time. Still almost untouched.

9. Finished Haruki Murakami’s 1Q84. Felt like I emerged from a dive into a sea of abstractness.

10. Started and finished Hannibal the TV series. Read my review to know how I feel about it.

11. Got active on my blog again after months.

12. Realised that the number of rotis I ate was inversely proportional to the size of the roti 😛

13. Finally started to understand directions in Hyderabad.

14. Got lost, stranded and towed on a road trip. It was SOME experience

15. Found a roadside stall that sells dosas of 111 flavors 0.o then found another one close to it O.O

16. Realised that canteen food is canteen food, no matter how big the canteen is 😛

17. Realised that sleep can attack you anywhere, anytime, especially if you are at work and it would be embarassing to look sleepy 😛

18. Felt the satisfaction of buying things of good quality in a sale with your own money ^_^

19. Felt, every moment, the pangs of a long distance relationship. And worked hard together to diminish them.

20. Felt the joy of giving someone a surprise from thousands of miles away.

21. Felt the anger due to that surprise being delayed.

22. Experienced the sheer joy of teaching a baby niece new words and hearing the same from her. Feels the same when she recognises me and beams up when she sees me. There is only one other person who does that 🙂

23. Did not wear a sweater or a jacket even in the last week of december or first week of january.

24. Felt jealous, of everyone back in Kolkata.

25. Realised the importance of weekends and leaves.

26. Realised that money is never enough.

27. My mother tongue happened to me. It suddenly became a joyful event to hear it from a stranger.

28. Made my dad feel proud.

29. Received a recognition from my training center which made my day.

30. Broke promises, and felt degenerated for that.

31. Vowed again to always try my hardest and be true to myself and my promises.

32. Found sand in my pockets. 3 months old. Beach sand NEVER leaves completely.

33. Saw how difficult it is to feed a 1 and half year old her dinner.

34. Inspired someone to start working out.

35. Actually missed Gujarat! 😛 and a great bunch of friends I made over there. I truly intend to extend that friendship forever.

36. Had original mexican Tequila 😉

37. Saw an episode of Ouran High School Host Club. Interesting. 🙂

38. Gave my family a dinner treat (at the shop with 111 dosas 😛 ). Felt awesome about it 🙂

39. Started waiting for a bus instead of taking shareautos to save money. Actually did.

40. Planned, cancelled, planned again, cancelled again.

41. Saw a bigass hotel (Trident, Hyderabad)

42. Saw a Starbucks cafe where I intend to go soon to what the hype is all about.

43. Learnt through experience that every office area, no matter how posh or develeoped, will have a bunch of food stalls and pan parlors at one place.

44. Felt strong. Behaved the same.

45. Had several shots at the office coffee vending machine.

46. Over-ordered Biriyani (again! its a common thing in Hyderabad for non-Hyderabadis to do)

47. Aspired to work at Google someday.

48. Aspired to leave that job to author a book someday.

49. Aspired that the people of my country gain some common sense and don’t equate that with Chetan Bhagat.

50. Determined to fulfill all these aspirations, thanks to the motivations and love from someone who is an inspiration behind many of my works, and my life 🙂

Well, there is no set order to reading the above points. Neither are they the best or worst I could come up with. They just are.

What are the fifty things that happened to you this last month?

Words are but means to convey what the mind sees through the eye, and I am a mere messenger who brings to you the musings of his mind, a mind that likes to observe, a mind that wants to observe everything that can be observed, a mind that wants to perceive life as something new in each and every avenue it finds.
